‘Pig book’ spotlights 232 earmarks amid pork that wastes taxpayers’ money
The 2018 edition of the Congressional Pig Book exposes 232 earmarks of taxpayers’ money totaling $14.7 billion, doubling the 2017 tally, Thomas A. Schatz, president of Citizens Against Government Waste, told reporters. At this rate, within two years, lawmakers will pass their $29 billion record in earmark spending set in 2006.
