John Klar: Transgender surgery is the lobotomy of the 21st century

The bullying of conservatives at colleges needs to end

Back to school on America’s college campuses can be an exciting time for parents and students alike. But if your college freshman comes home for Thanksgiving break and you no longer recognize the person you dropped off just three months prior, that excitement may turn to shock, or even anger.

Keelan: Bernie Sanders and the Trump playbook

What Trump has done in handling the media has not been lost on Sanders. While Sanders’ outlandish remarks may not have had the frequency of Trump’s, they do come along , if not weekly, certainly on a monthly basis.

Flemming: Cannibalism and climate catastrophe

Vermont has been exploring less traditional means of taking care of our dead for years. Now, some climate alarmists are suggesting that we may well have to turn to cannibalism if we are to survive climate change.

Klar: Vermont claims the right to compel health care workers to kill babies

The hospital and liberal news media repeatedly seek to characterize this dispute as one of religiosity. The real issue is not one of religious doctrine, but of whether that fetus approaching delivery is deserving of all those ethical duties that doctors and nurses vow to provide to human beings.

Opinion: We must never forget 9/11 or the lessons we learned from it

McClaughry: Get ready for ‘Climate Strike’ disruption

Climate activists need to learn that in a civilized democracy, you are not entitled to promote your demands by throwing yourself onto the street to stop traffic and disrupt the peaceful activities of your fellow citizens.

SAM-VT: Mass shooters linked to pot smoking

Marijuana use is linked to psychosis and violent behavior. In addition to access to guns, most mass shooters — a term that we feel is abhorrently necessary to know — had access to and were using marijuana.

Deb Billado: What’s an ounce of prevention worth?

In addressing the opioid crisis, Vermont is nationally recognized for its leadership in treatment and recovery initiatives. The Vermont GOP must build on this important progress. Prevention must be the first and foremost weapon in this battle.

America’s children need universal school choice now more than ever

A near-monopoly education system that denies students access to schools that would better serve them impedes upward mobility in America. It will not get better until we separate housing from schooling, through universal education choice.

Klar: Black supremacy in Vermont — Using racism as a sword

Vermont leads the nation in maple syrup, transgenderism and black supremacy. By this is not meant some Malcolm X militancy or reverse-Nazi primacy. In fact, Vermont’s progressives are demonstrating that black supremacy does not require black people at all.
