During the second reading of S.37, Sen. Lyons made an attempt to make a case that “sexual ambiguity” was a historical example of “gender dysphoria.” With just a google search Lyons could have easily accessed better information than she received from her list of committee experts.
Since the Feb. 7 announcement of the VSU “all-digital” library, responses from students, faculty, staff and community members have flooded Vermont. The message is clear — this decision does not serve the people and will bring collateral damage to the campuses.
Exposing young people to perpetual fear campaigns — especially when they are captive audiences in public schools — knowing as we do that it leads to adverse mental health outcomes, should be equally banned.
Unfortunately, there will be many other opportunities to fritter away the remaining federal COVID windfall on band aids rather than tackling problems which will be with us when the federal dollars are gone. It’s time to watch legislators closely and speak up loudly.

Even if you disagree with him — and you must if you understand basic economics and human nature, and have a passing knowledge of how socialist societies have ended up — you have to give the Vermont socialist senator some credit for steady commitment.
It’s time for our government to get back to basics. Democrats have been on a push for over 20 years to constantly expand the scope of work that our state government does, and we have neglected the central purposes for too long.
If Vermont police arrest these extremely violent offenders, they are condemned as racists. No wonder crime in Burlington and Vermont is skyrocketing. It will doubtless get worse.

Prostitution, both male and female, is now decriminalized under Burlington ordinances and now is being considered as a statewide privilege along with taxpayer paid health care.
In as much as the PUC has already told the Legislature that heat pumps are not “affordable,” why is the Democrat controlled Legislature still pushing Vermonters to install heat pumps? This bill should die in the House Energy Committee.
Everyone deserves to be treated the same. If we are to be inclusive, we must follow procedural due process to ensure there are no double standards.
