In the weeks since the November presidential election, numerous liberals, leftists, and other opponents of President Donald Trump have called for a purge of him and his supporters from public life. Just days ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on Jan. 20, those purges have begun in earnest.
Since the dawn of civilization, the tactics of those who seek absolute power are the same: demonize and dehumanize your political opponents. Hillary Clinton called her political enemies “deplorables.” The Nazis called theirs “undesirables.” Impose collective guilt for any criminal or wrongful conduct of any one of your political opponents’ supporters.
These corporate, monopolistic, social media cartels are playing a terribly dangerous game in silencing legitimate political dissent. Our nation is founded on the principles of free speech and the ability to have a redress of grievances with our elected officials.
