Both Stenger and Quiros have pleaded guilty to various charges stemming from an FBI investigation into their fraud (over the AnC biotech facility project in Newport). But the Vermont political machines that eagerly aided and abetted the fraudsters haven’t suffered much, if any.
That’s just a sampler from these climate crazed activists who expect “rivers of money” — their description — to bring it all about. Hang on to your wallet.
The stark reality is that our politicians in Vermont are already spending money well beyond our tax capacity. But the really scary thing is, they’re not done. Not by a long shot.
Get the damned shot if you haven’t. Get your booster as soon as it is available. And, even if vaxxed, wear your mask where there is high likelihood of getting or transmitting disease.
U.S. News has this breathlessly overlong piece about Vermont. It’s a very blue state with a three-term “Republican” governor. Can it be a template for healing America? Only if more Republicans lay down or act like Democrats. But that’s not bipartisan, it’s surrender.
Rather than the Delta variant, the influenza morbidity and mortality rates offer a stronger basis to mask children for protection. But we have never made that argument and for good reason.
Vermont doesn’t have a housing “demand” problem. We have a housing “supply” problem, driven by an overly burdensome regulatory process that creates uncertainty, raises costs, and delays and deters projects from becoming a reality.
You can’t blame would-be employees for making these basic economic calculations. But the reality is that by buying into the system of government handouts — limiting one’s legitimate income and opportunities in exchange — one is in reality signing on to be a member of a permanent, dependent underclass for the rest of one’s life.
With schools opening up and community spread across the state, I am calling on Governor Scott to take additional steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and protect Vermonters. We need to be more proactive in following guidance from the CDC.
