Biden blames rising crime on guns, not loss of police presence in major cities

By Kendall Tietz

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki attributed the country’s rising crime to gun violence Monday ahead of President Joe Biden’s plans to speak about his “crime prevention strategy.”

“I’m not going to get ahead of his comments or remarks later this week, but it is an area where the president feels a great deal of the crime we’re seeing as a result of gun violence,” Psaki said. She also told reporters that “there’s been actually a rise in crime over the last five years, but really the last 18 months.”

Crime has been spiking across the country throughout 2021, including mass shootings and gun violence.

The administration has been reluctant to answer questions on crime, especially in regard to Biden’s role in the The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, which experts point to as having a role in systemic racism and mass incarceration, according to analysis by the Brennan Center For Justice.

“Certainly a long time has passed since the crime bill in 94,” Psaki said when asked about the bill. “He’s spoken himself to differences, things he would stand by, things he might do differently, but I wouldn’t see this as a response to that as much as a conveying to the American people what he’s going to do now to help address the rising crime we’ve seen over the last year and a half.”

She called it an “opportunity” for the president to speak about his plans to address crime around the country, as it is a concern for many Americans on both the right and left.

In May, when asked about the spike in crime, Psaki said she would certainly say there is a gun problem and that the president would say the same. She went on to advertise Biden’s decision to increase funding for “community violence prevention programs.”

  1. No where in the US Constitution under the 2A does it state that certain people and weapons are limited to the citizenry. His press conf. was filled with nothing but false statements.

  2. Crime as a result of gun violence? Are these people terminally retarded? Gun violence is the result of crime. How hard is it to figure that out? They also believe that demonizing, persecuting and defunding police will reduce crime. That releasing arrested offenders without bail will reduce crime. That letting convicted felons out of jail will reduce crime. That disarming citizens who obey laws, prosecuting them for defending themselves will reduce crime. That not prosecuting mass theft and arson will reduce crime. And that fraudulently created ballots empowers them to destroy the country. Well, O.K. – they were right about that last one.

  3. Government Gun Control :

Waco & Ruby Ridge part II.

Randy Weaver’s wife shot thru the head by FBI snipper while holding their 10 month baby in her arms. His 14 year old son killed, shot in the back by government agent August 21 1992.

76 Branch Davidians, including 25 children murdered by FBI and ATF February 28, 1993.

  4. Lack of prosecution, treating criminals with kid gloves and repeatedly releasing them back on the streets, and cutting LE funding leads to more violent crime.

It’s easier to demonize an inanimate object though. Apparently, our first president with full blown dementia isn’t aware we have a Bill of Rights and not a Bill of Needs. Molon Labe.
