Biden admin sends DOJ to attempt to stop 2 million vote audit in Maricopa County

By Thomas Catenacci

The Department of Justice expressed concern that the ongoing audit of 2020 election results in Arizona may violate election law and lead to voter intimidation.

The Department (DOJ) notified Republican State Senate President Karen Fann on Wednesday that it was monitoring the state’s audit of 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County, Arizona, in 2020, according to the Associated Press. DOJ specifically worried that outsourcing the audit to a third-party contractor may violate federal election law that requires elections officials to control ballots for 22 months after an election.

The contractor’s intent to contact voters may also result in future illegal voter intimidation, the DOJ said, the AP reported. Such intimidation may also violate federal statutes on elections.

“Past experience with similar investigative efforts around the country has raised concerns that they can be directed at minority voters, which potentially can implicate the anti-intimidation prohibitions of the Voting Rights Act,” Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Pamela Karlan wrote in the letter, according to the AP.

“Such investigative efforts can have a significant intimidating effect on qualified voters that can deter them from seeking to vote in the future,” she said.

Karlan requested that Fann explain how state officials are making sure the law is followed, according to the AP. Fann is reportedly working on a response to the DOJ.

In March, Fann announced plans to pursue a thorough forensic audit of the ballots cast in Maricopa County last year. Critics lambasted the attempt to uncover fraud as unnecessary and a waste of money, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Daniel Martin ruled that the audit could take place, according to CBS-affiliate KPHO-TV. Plaintiffs arguing against the audit hadn’t proven it would harm voters, he said.

“BIG victory today in Arizona,” former President Donald Trump said in a statement after the ruling. “A highly respected Judge has just ruled that the Forensic Audit being done by the Arizona State Senate can and will continue.”

Arizona Democrats and Republicans came to an agreement about how the audit would proceed on Wednesday, NBC News reported. Independent election officials will be allowed to oversee the process and intervene if voter information isn’t secured properly, according to the agreement.

Trump and his allies have repeatedly claimed since November that the presidential election was stolen from him.

  1. There is hope. I did the RIGHT thing and left VT after 30 years and I now live in Maricopa County…. best thing I ever did. we could retire early because AZ is so cheap on taxes. We save over $30k a year. My property taxes alone dropped from $17,00 to $4,400…and my house here is 30% more valuable than my old VT one! Anyways, last nite at a friends house…a reeative of theirs is one of the counters of audit. They are supposed to be on silence of what they see….but they hinted that so far they have identified close to 75,000 FAKE paper ballots and this does not include what they will find in the vote machines. dems know what they did and why they fight tooth and nail. We’ll know more in a month or so.

  2. ““Such investigative efforts can have a significant intimidating effect on qualified voters that can deter them from seeking to vote in the future,”

If they find illegal ballots it should intimated those that fraudulently cast them..
Protecting voting integrity should be a higher priority then protecting voter’s who
cheated feelings.. Speaking of intimidation why is the commies strong arm dept of Just Us trying to intimidate the recount? Proving again the worthlessness of the alphabet’s…Doj, FIB, Cisgender Inclusion Academy like antifa and blm are just strong arms of the leftist commies. Time to cut them all loose from the pig trough..

  3. If the commies get away with stopping this, its a guarantee we will never have honest elections or a free America again.

  4. So we have been told that the 2020 election was a 100% ” Legit ” by Democrats, so why
all the roadblocks, and now asking the DOJ to get involved in a state voter process ??

One would think that Democrats would want a complete ” forensic audit ” and prove that
the election was legit and knowing Democrats they would jump at the chance to rub it in
    the face of Conservatives……

Or are the Democrats worried about what will be found, and who was involved?? It’s been
stated there was a fraud, so let’s see !!

Democrats know, if Maricopa County, Arizona ” falls ” shows any type of fraud, then the other
states in question will be in play, and shows we have an ” Illegitimate President ” Oh my !!

We believe we already know the answer, but if the audit is stopped then we know we were
    right !!

    Democrats power-hungry fools.

  5. Why did the DOJ not make a peep, when major ballot COUNTING fraud was taking place in six swing states, which stopped the counting at about 10:30 pm on ELECTION NIGHT, to assess how many phony ballots would be needed to overcome Trump’s big leads?

  6. Somebody’s very worried – and they’re pulling out the big guns to stop an audit.

Apparently the illegitimate Xiao Bai Dan administration doesn’t want too much transparency.
