Bernie Sanders to hold Labor Day weekend town meetings across Vermont

BURLINGTON — Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will hold five town meetings across Vermont over Labor Day weekend, September 4 to 6. The town meetings in Springfield, Newport, St. Johnsbury, Brattleboro, and Middlebury are an opportunity for communities to come together and hear about the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill and how it will make major investments in working families in Vermont and across the country.

As Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, Sanders introduced a historic budget resolution which passed the Senate on August 11, and included a blueprint for the crafting of sweeping legislation to invest in the long-neglected needs of the working class.

“If passed, this bill will be the most consequential piece of legislation for working people, the elderly, the children, the sick, and the poor since FDR and the New Deal of the 1930s,” said Sen. Sanders. “Not only will this bill go a long way to improving life for working families, it will also in an unprecedented way address the threat of climate change and create millions of good paying jobs. Now is the time for bold action. Now is the time to restore faith in ordinary Americans that their government can work for them, and not just wealthy campaign contributors. I look forward to speaking directly with Vermonters about the details of this bill and hearing their thoughts.”

  1. It is not just businesses being over-taxed/over-regulated, i.e., castrated to weaken it, so they will be subservient to Dem/Progs.

The US Media and the USPS were mis-used by Dem/Progs to steal the 2020 election, to grab absolute power over the US government.
    https://www.windtaskforce.org/profiles/blogs/preperation-of-288-000-mail-in-ballots-in-bethpage-ny-for-use-in

The Dem/Progs do not like the US Media being such a dangerous/powerful rival.

The US Media will get their turn in the barrel, so they too can be screwed over by the Socialist/Communist Dem/Progs currently running the US government, which, after just a few Biden-in-the-basement months, is already driving the economy into ruination, goosing illegal immigration, to unprecedented heights, to alter the US demographics in their favor.

Giving these extremist Dem/Prog folks $3.5 TRILLION, plus $1.2 TRILLION, plus whatever else, to play their ill-fated/wasteful, Build-Back-Better games, would be suicidal for the US.

A united effort is required to take back the House and Senate in 2022, to derail this un-American freight-train.

Obsequious, RINO-run businesses will be threatened as well.
Hopefully, they too will see the handwriting on the wall.

  2. Ever sense the China Flu, parades all over Vermont were cancelled. Usually, that was the only time Vermonters could get a glimpse of “The Bern”. But have no fear, Vermonters will be treated to a rendition of Weekend At Bernie’s the Vermont movie, as he barks around the state pushing more USA crushing debt for liberal nonsense. In the movie, Bernie passed away and the main characters had to shuffle him around to accomplish their plans. While I wish our Bernie no harm, I hope his $3.5 Trillion boondoggle, infrastructure bill turns up as dead as the movie Bernie. I do wonder if he will spend a couple nights in his two Vermont homes so he can have his staff remove the cobwebs and dust. Weekend With Bernie, free admission but collected in staggering taxes later! I like the other movies better with Peter, Pat and Bernie. The 3 Vermont stooges.

  3. In yesterday’s Wall Street Journal, Democrat Senator Joe Manchin tells us it time to take a “strategic pause” on Bernie’s $3.5 trillion dollar spending package. Manchin cites the dangers of massive mounting US debt, inflation and future problems as reasons for pause. Democrat US Senator Krysten Sinema and Democrats in the US House have voiced similar concerns.

When Senate and House Democrats join Republicans and say slow down on this gigantic spending program, its time for Bernie to stop talking and start listening……..This would also apply to Lt Gov Gray can’t wait to start spending.

  4. Seems like a good opportunity to hold a peaceful protest and let Bernie know how working class people really feel. No need to RSVP – just show up with signs and flags of your choice. Perhaps give him a copy of the Constitution as it appears he has no idea what it says or means.

  5. Senator Sanders is not shy about making promises…….Here’s just some of the promises he made about his $3.5 trillion Budget Resolution in a press release issued on August 8, 2021:

“The $3.5 trillion Budget Resolution that I am introducing……will be the most consequential piece of legislation……since FDR and the New Deal of the 1930s.”

“It will also put the U.S. in a global leadership position to combat climate change and make our planet healthy and habitable for future generations.”

“Further, this legislation will create millions of good paying jobs…… and save the planet.”

Sen. Sanders’ promises remind me of the snake oil salesmen who used to roll into rural towns in the old days selling elixirs that promised to cure aching backs, sore feet, failing eyes while also guaranteeing entrance to heaven.

Remember the snake oil salesmen from the old western movies?……Well, it looks like Sen. Sanders will be making similar promises during his Town Hall meetings in the next few days if we are to believe the press release he issued.
