Bernie Sanders retracts endorsement of Dem candidate who wanted to legalize bestiality

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders retracted his endorsement of Democratic congressional candidate Cenk Uygur just one day after announcing it.

Uygur, founder of the left-wing media outlet “The Young Turks,” has come under fire for past comments, including one where he said certain kinds of bestiality should be legal. Despite this and multiple videos showing crude comments about women, the Vermont senator endorsed the congressional candidate Thursday.

“As I said yesterday, Cenk has been a longtime fighter against the corrupt forces in our politics and he’s inspired people all across the country,” Sanders said in a statement announcing his retraction Friday.

“However, our movement is bigger than any one person. I hear my grassroots supporters who were frustrated and understand their concerns,” he added.

Videos posted by M. Mendoza Ferrer on Twitter in November show Uygur making inappropriate remarks about women. He discussed a rating system for women, adding in what “score” the woman would have to be for her to “suck your dick.” Another video from 2013 shows Uygur discussing bestiality and talking about how “hot” women from the Dominican are.

“Here comes the controversial part I shouldn’t say,” Uygur said, according to one of the videos. “I believe that if I were the benevolent dictator of the world, I would legalize bestiality where you are giving, you are pleasuring the animal.”

Uygur was fired from progressive political action committee the Justice Democrats after sexist blogposts surfaced, Huffpost previously reported.

The congressional candidate said his past comments “do not reflect who I am today.” Uygur is “rejecting all endorsement for his campaign,” according to Sanders’ statement Friday.

Uygur is running for former Democratic California Rep. Katie Hill’s seat. She resigned in October after allegations that she slept with a congressional staffer and a campaign staffer.

Republican George Papadopoulos, who spent 12 days in prison, is also running for Hill’s seat. He was convicted of lying to the FBI about his contact withRussian-connected individuals during the 2016 presidential campaign.

    video scrubbed before it was viewed. IT’s YOUTubes fault….

  3. Uygur represents the rot of the left including Dems who support him and his ilk including Comrade Bernard who has written of his own sexist rape fantasy musings which few if any of his supporters question.

    If any conservative displayed the racist and sexist behavior now becoming the norm for Democrat party and leftwing politics we’d never hear the end.

    Where is the outrage of the Democrats or even the Progs – the Marxist wing if the party. Bernie has no regard for the vulnerable and defenseless but displays the behavior if a very coldhearted hateful wealthy elitist snob.

    • I like how he says our movement is bigger than any one person. Typical socialist, wanting socialism for our beloved country, and just like they’ve thrown mr yogurt to the trash heap they will do to all the useful idiots that helped bring them to power.

      Funny and sad, if people,read and understood even a smidgen of the constitution, they would see it’s big enough and strong enough to support and defend the rights of the individual from the group, the mob , the majority.

      But then Bernie doesn’t love America.

  4. Very weak position by Sanders … retracting because of the opinions of some of his supporters. So he personally does not seem to have any issue with this sick person. Very telling as well as actually cowardly.

  5. I am sickened by what the Democrats have become. There is a constant move to outdo the left no matter this issue. They will turn America in to a bankrupt cesspool.

    • You Are Absolutely Correct. The Dems are now Socialist; not Dems, and Blue Dogs which once could work with and compromise for the best interest of their constituents.
