“Stormwater runoff not only erodes our soils but also carries sediment, phosphorus, and other pollutants into our waterways,” said DEC Commissioner John Beling. “Issuing this permit is a key part of the Vermont Clean Water Act of 2015. Vermont needs to reduce stormwater runoff from commercial, industrial, residential, and institutional properties to meet clean water goals.”

McClaughry: Moon landings? Mars?

Does anybody other than NASA and its contractors really believe that this nation, $31 trillion in debt, will get $93 billion dollars of value by putting six more astronauts on the moon?

Attorney James McFaul: The legal realities of Article 22

Late term abortions will be a fundamental liberty right under Article 22, and any attempt to burden that right will have to pass the “strict scrutiny” test. Legal scholars know how difficult a test that is.

Opinion: The left is pushing to reshape voting systems across America — Here’s how

Ranked-choice voting isn’t the path to a better election system, just a more complicated one that disenfranchises Americans and fuels doubt and confusion. Ranked-choice is clearly the wrong choice for voting in America.

John Klar: Free speech descends to new lows in Vermont – soccer coach parent suspended for calling trans student a boy

Superintendent Layne Millington’s speech-regulating practices constitute content-filtering totalitarianism that has caused parents to recoil and fight back — exactly as Dr. Peterson warned would happen if people’s psyches were enslaved by state ideology.

Who is Outright Vermont, and what are they doing in Vermont schools

With the emergence of Outright Vermont as the newly self-proclaimed referee of what’s news and what’s not regarding trangenderism in Vermont schools, it’s worth looking at what role they play in Vermont schools and how — and how much — the organization is funded.

Joe Gervais: Democrats’ ‘America Last’ policies bringing blackouts to New England this winter

Since the 2020 election and installation of Joe Biden as president of the United States, we have seen a number of policies put in place that do not make America great — to the contrary, they destroy America.

Dr. William Spina: One doctor’s opinion on Proposal 5

This involves cutting up the baby into small pieces in order to extract it — a baby with a fully intact nervous system. In my opinion, these are hideous procedures on an infant that could survive outside the womb. How can anyone support such a thing? Vote no on Article 22.

Tom Evslin: Malthus was very wrong about overpopulation

Once we are free from panic induced by latter-day Malthusian prophets of doom (who are ignoring “the science”), we can deal with the immediate threat, Putin and his energy weapon, and the intermediate threat, too many geezers and too few workers, and plan our way to a future of abundance.

Paul Dame: VTGOP doing our part for election integrity

The VTGOP is going to take a small step to make our elections more efficient and more safe. Last week we launched a new page on our website titled “Excess Ballot Reporting.” Since we started last week we’ve been recording an average of one new excess ballot report nearly every eight hours.
