On Monday, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu announced he would not seek the Republican nomination for President. I guess he looked at the polling and discovered that he’d reached his ceiling on electability (but won’t admit it).
Eager to capitalize on a generation still under the spell of Harry Potter, UVM plans to be the first to offer a Bachelors in Divination, Sorcery and Magic (BDSM). Applications for the school have already been flooding in.
Sadly, our two representatives, Kathleen James and Seth Bongartz, were among the 103 Democrat, Progressive and independent legislators who didn’t listen to their constituents. Despite the repeated public appeals to vote no on S.5, they voted yes.
The Democrats who voted for the bill defend their unpopular decision by insisting S.5 is “just a study.” Why is the PUC hiring two permanent employees and another to a three-year contract in order to perform “just a study” that’s due in eighteen months? Seems odd, no?
In this era dominated by aggressive steps to deal with “climate change,” it’s worth inquiring into what the climate activists are working to install in our public school system, presumably to lead their pupils into supporting a long list of policies on the climate change agenda.
The Democrats may have the votes to override Phil Scott’s vetoes, but at least the governor is going to extract maximum embarrassment when they do. Scott vetoed S.39, the bill that would more than double legislators pay and benefits package over the next few years.

At dinner, Mr. John McClaughry was presented with the Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his public policy work in service of Vermont and her people.
A Vermont school district punished a father and his daughter for speaking out against a biological male in the girls’ locker room. Now the district has settled with the Allen family in what its legal team is hailing as a “resounding victory.”
We need to take control of our school boards, and more importantly, we need to take personal responsibility for caring and educating our children and not cede to the state that does not have their best interests in mind.
