Gov. Scott Announces Vermont Housing Improvement Program to rehabilitate housing stock

Vermont has launched the Vermont Housing Improvement Program to bring housing units back online by investing in existing, but under-utilized structures. The program, funded using federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, will invest a total of $5 million into the state’s aging housing stock.

Vermont adopts emergency rule expanding insurance coverage for Covid-19 rapid at-home tests

Gov. Phil Scott and Department of Financial Regulation Commissioner Michael Pieciak announced Tuesday an emergency regulation issued by the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation requiring health insurers to cover the costs of COVID-19 antigen at-home tests, commonly referred to as “rapid” tests.

Flemming: The consequences of doing nothing on pension crisis

If we do nothing now, it will mean even greater and harder benefit cuts down the road as the unfunded liabilities continue to mount. Today’s $5.6 plus billion unfunded liability will look like chump change if we continue to kick the can down the road.

NYC will mandate vaccines for private sector workers, de Blasio announces

“As of today, we are going to announce a first in the nation measure, our health commissioner will announce a vaccine mandate for private sectors employers across the board,” de Blasio added. “All private sectors employers in New York City will be covered by this vaccine mandate, as of December 27th.”

Vermont commits $7M to brownfield projects

Gov. Phil Scott announced that Vermont has committed $7 million through the Agency of Commerce and Community Development and the Agency of Natural Resources toward the $25 million appropriated to clean up brownfield sites across the state.
