Lawmakers clarify pandemic Town Meeting Day rules after Hinesburg votes to eliminate traditional in-person meeting

Hinesburg’s recent vote to eliminate it’s town meeting and move all town votes to a ballot instead of a traditional town meeting has caught the attention of state lawmakers and Town Meeting Day advocates, who say the town improperly applied a pandemic-era safety measure.

VISA update: Lawmakers review religious school public tuition, ‘explosive’ behavior problems, learning losses

Sen. Brian Campion said a majority of Senate members wish to ensure public dollars do not go to schools that discriminate. Also, kindergartners are demonstrating explosive behavior, and eighth graders are taking their social cues from Tik Tok. Ninth and tenth graders are showing increased substance use.

Sen. Bernie Sanders has made a career out of claiming that rich people aren’t paying their fair share of income taxes. But I don’t ever recall Bernie actually citing federal income tax data to back up his charges.
