Abolishing the police is becoming a popular idea among left-wingers

Support for abolishing or defunding the police is quickly gaining support among left-wingers.

Prominent liberal figures are increasingly embracing the radical idea amid the nationwide protests and violence following the death of George Floyd.

Former Hillary Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon, who now leads left-wing group Demand Justice, tweeted out his support for defunding the police on Wednesday.

Left-wing celebrities, including singer John Legend and women’s soccer player Megan Rapinoe, have signed a Black Lives Matter petition that calls for defunding the police.

“We call for a national defunding of police. We demand investment in our communities and the resources to ensure Black people not only survive, but thrive,” reads a May 30 post on Black Lives Matter’s website.

A Black Lives Matter protest in Fort Worth, Texas, on Thursday featured a speaker who called for abolishing the local police department.

“What we are demanding, and what I demand, is that we abolish our law enforcement,” Black Lives Matter organizer Natasha Nelson said.

A Massachusetts chapter of the United Auto Workers union on May 29 called for the “disarmament and defunding of local police departments, with the redistribution of resources to democratically community-controlled education, healthcare and housing infrastructure.”

The Daily Beast on Thursday published a Harvard University researcher’s op-ed titled, “Disband the police.”

Brooklyn College professor Alex Vitale told Mother Jones magazine in an interview that “there’s been a deepening of analysis among the activists who initially just wanted to jail some killer cops, but then began to see that that would not really fix the problem,” and now want to abolish law enforcement altogether.

Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib urged skeptics in a May 31 tweet to “dig deeper so that the #DefundPolice movement isn’t brushed aside.”

Another high-profile freshman Democrat, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, previously said that America needs to have a “real conversation” about abolishing prisons.

“Mass incarceration is our American reality. It is a system whose logic evolved from the same lineage as Jim Crow, American apartheid, & slavery,” she wrote in an October 2019 tweet. “To end it, we have to change. That means we need to have a real conversation about decarceration & prison abolition in this country.”

  2. Most of the protesters likely are in dead-end service jobs.
    Many of these jobs will disappear due to the virus, robotics, etc.
    Millions of these people are facing an abyss.

    The dead-end service jobs usually require very low levels of literacy, education and skill.
    What is to become of these millions of people?

    Should the rest of us just give them some minimal annual wage, with benefits, for decades?

    Should the US reopen its borders to admit millions more of such people each year, who are from different countries/cultures and usually do not even speak English?

    If these millions of people in dead-end jobs vote for Dem/Progs, open borders would be another reality they would be burdened with.

    They could vote for Republicans, because they want the borders to remain closed.

  5. So when the new world order police come in they will not be from NH or even Iowa, they will be from Russia and China and Brazil, so they will not have any connection with the local people. It makes it easier for them to just kill us because we are not them. But we know the terrain and we are armed and we have seen how little resistance it takes to disrupt their plans as seen on the news every night in tropical places like Afghanistan and Syria.

  6. In 500 days, 11,000 African-Americans were murdered by their fellow African-Americans… that’s about 650 “Blacks Killing Blacks” a month.

    Where are the outcries from LeBRONZE James, MLK Jr., Uncle Tom Sharpton & Tawana Brawley, Oprah, Toxic Pelosi, & Barry Hussein O’Biden?

    And they say, “Black-Lives-Matter”?
    They say, “Defund the Police?

    Hmm

    Democrats opening the borders to hordes of garbage,
    Democrats releasing hardened criminals because of BS-covid,
    Democrat’s doing catch and release of rioters, arsons, and thieves.
    Democrats sending pallets of cash to our enemies.
    Democrats pushing an idea that masculinity is bad and feminizing our men for several generations now is good.
    Democrats for power and control and fraudulent/chaotic mail-in

    The list goes on and on.

    Nearly every horrible thing that’s happened to this country is connected to Socialist Democrats.

    • You forgot to mention how many blacks kill their own every year in abortions. Blacks account for about 14% of the US population and yet account for about 40% of the abortions. Eugenicist and founder of Planned Parenthood, Margret Sanger must be dancing in hell over what she has accomplished.

    Abolish/defund ICI
    Abolish/defund the military.

    Open the borders to the millions of desporados.
    Soros and his ilk financing the transport from the Honduras, etc., to the Mexican northern border.
    Heck, just give them a free plane ticket to fly to Canada and just walk across the US-Canadian border.

    Be a sanctuary state, city, household.
    Welcome the illiterates, the unskilled, the uneducated, the sickly, as long as they vote Democrat.

    Leftists thrive on chaos, tear down the established order, no law and order, except on leftist terms, as they did in Russia in 1917, etc, until finally that USSR-show collapsed in 1990.
    A humongous waste for the entire world for 70 years

    Bernie and his leftist, Socialist, Communist cohorts have still not learned that lesson.

    It is all about power and control.

    Mail-in voting will cement more of their power and control.

Our Founding Fathers foresaw such an eventuality and passed the Second Amendment, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state…” when agencies of the government will not or lack the capacity to insure our freedom and our safety, and that certainly includes from an anarchic uprising of our fellow citizens, not just Redcoats and Indians. We are guaranteed the freedom to possess the means and ability to form citizen militias to protect stores, neighborhoods and our lives. And we are seeing that taking place during this uprising – as the Founding Fathers intended.

    and lets the cards fall as they may, the first ones to call for help will

  13. This is part of the United Nations Plan, they want to take over policing the world. This artificial rioting will continue and get worse, then they will come in and “Save America”. This is the ultimate spin for Coup or Subversion of a country.

    All these organizations are funded by the same people, with the same goal. There is nothing about peace, division and power are the name of the game, America is the prize. Hopefully we aren’t for sale.
